A 19 year-old college volleyball star was killed this past summer in a drunk driving car accident in Dunbar Township, Pennsylvania. Her friend, 18-year-old Ethan Kenney, was driving at the time of the collision and fled the scene.
Ethan and Cat had been driving on Ridge Boulevard at about 4:00 AM on Sunday June 9th when he lost control of the vehicle. They hit a guardrail and a tree before coming to a deadly halt. Cat was kept on life support for a day and a half until her parents made the decision to discontinue life support and donate their daughter’s organs. Cat’s tragic death saved five people who had been awaiting organ transplants.
Meanwhile, Ethan fled the scene of the crash. When he was found hours later by authorities, he had suffered minor injuries and was visibly intoxicated. He has been charged with homicide by a vehicle while driving under the influence and several related charges.
