Jorge S. Panama, a 47 year-old Yorktown, New Jersey man, is being charged with drunk driving following a two-car accident in Yorktown this past week.
Panama was allegedly driving his car eastbound on Route 202 when another car, traveling westbound, failed to yield the right of way while making a left-hand turn. Further investigation revealed that Panama was allegedly operating his vehicle while intoxicated.
Panamaand his passenger were transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital Center emergency room for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and two passengers in the other car were taken to the Westchester County Medical Center, but their injuries were also not life-threatening.
Following emergency room treatment, Panama was released to the Yorktown Police Department for processing on the drunk driving charge. He posted $250 bail and was released to a family member.
Panamais scheduled to appear in court later this week.
