Brian Simpkins, 39, was dismissed from his duty as a Massachusetts State Trooper this week after he was found asleep in his car with an open container of alcohol behind the wheel with the engine running.
Stoughton, MA police arrested Simpkins in the parking lot of a Wendy’s Restaurant early Friday morning after they determined that he was substantially impaired.
Simpkins is being charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Simpkins was previously charged with OUI before he joined the State Police in 2006.
He was arraigned in Stoughton District Court later Friday morning after he was arrested.
