47 year-old Roy Walton, a United States Navy veteran, pleaded guilty this past Wednesday in a Michigan court on criminal charges that he was intoxicated while he was riding a lawn mower to a drugstore near his home.
Walton appeared in the Oakland County Circuit Court this past Wednesday to enter the guilty plea. Judge Wendy Potts, who heard the case, told Walton that he could expect his sentence to include a minimum of 45 days in jail due to his prior drunk driving convictions.
According to the police, Walton was intoxicated when he drove a riding lawn mower on a sidewalk to a drug store not far from his home in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Police detained Walton after he left the drug store and administered a breathalyzer. Walton blew a 0.10, which is over Michigan’s 0.08 limit.
