The 20 year-old Florida resident crashed into another motor vehicle after entering the expressway traveling the wrong way. Four hours before the fatal auto crash, the young woman tweeted to her 300 followers, “2 drunk 2 care.”
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the car crash occurred at around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. The car accident took the lives of two 21 year-old friends. One of the girls was killed instantly upon being struck by the wrong-way driver. The second girl died several days later from her personal injuries in the emergency room of a local hospital.
Although the driver was not tested using a breathalyzer at the scene of the car accident, police are running blood tests at a crime lab. The driver was allegedly drunk at the time of the auto accident, given her careless expression on Twitter just four hours earlier: “2 drunk 2 care.” The girl’s Twitter name is “pot princess,” adding to suspicions that the wrong-way driver may have been operating under the influence.
Police report that although the driver has not been charged with a crime, traffic homicide investigations typically take one or two months to complete, before criminal charges are brought.
